Flying

Geneva is the airport of choice, as the chalet is less than one hour's drive away. Direct flights are available on a daily basis from a large number of UK airports throughout the year and the choice and range increases in the peak winter months.

We find these are good places to search for flights.
Skyscanner
Ebookers

Set out below are some we know about and have used.

All year round

Easyjet
from Gatwick, Luton, Stansted, Belfast, Bristol, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Nottingham, Liverpool
BA
from Gatwick and Heathrow.
Swiss air
from London City

As an alternative:
Ryanair have very cheap flights from Stansted to Grenoble(2 hours drive away).

Winter

The above airlines offer even more departure points. In particular, for 2007, the Easyjet Birmingham flights are excellent value. They are also joined by:
Jet2
from Manchester and Leeds
Globespan
from Edinburgh
BMIbaby
from Birmingham, Manchester, Cardiff & Nottingham.

Or you can try and get a seat on one of the many weekend charter flights.

Transfers

The two best (and cheapest, unless you are travelling alone) ways from the airport to the resort are by private transfer or by hiring a car.

Private transfers

As a rough guide these cost 140 euros each way (more for evenings/weekends/peak times). This is the price for 1-8 people so it's obviously very cost effective to travel in a group.

Car hire

Not as expensive as you would think (less than £150 per week all in) and a car can be useful to visit other resorts nearby. Remember it's a very easy drive to the chalet. No nasty narrow switchbacks. It pays to shop around for car hire. We tend to try these three and pick the cheapest. If you do look further afield to hire, we recommend you only hire from the SWISS side of Geneva airport. It's a lot less hassle getting to the car and getting to and from the airport.

There is also a bus service to the resort from the airport but unless you're travelling alone it's not any cheaper. It's also not door to door. We don't recommend it but here's the website. You could also get the train to Cluses and then a taxi or bus. We wouldn't bother.

Driving

This is worth considering for longer stays. It's an 8 hour drive from Calais, motorway all the way to Cluses which is just 20 minutes from the chalet. These websites are useful:
