Combe de Gers. Autumn hiking at it's best

Whilst skiing dominates the winter and mid-June to September is viewed as a holiday peak, Samoens is a truly year round resort. By the time the skiing finally closes at the end of April, spring has definitely arrived in the village and the south facing slopes are verdant and in bloom. Average temperatures from May onwards are over 25 degrees and there is a lot of bright sunny weather. Life goes on in the village with all the shops and most of the restaurants still open. Many of the summer activity organisations are only too happy to have early custom and, of course, with Samoens jewel being it's proximity and access to nature, it's never closed! Add to that the absence of crowds, giveaway flights and low resort prices and it's a great place to come for some peace and early summer.

At the other end of the year, Autumn is a fantastic time to witness the amazing reds, greens and golds of a landscape of mixed conifers and deciduous trees and the climate is warm well into October. Perfect walking conditions on deserted paths.

We offer year round accommodation, services and catering if required. Our prices in May, early June and in the autumn are at their lowest. Come and see what the alps have to offer at a bargain price!
